Getting Started

How do I get started with DriveDesk?

Your account is provisioned by the DriveDesk team. Once you sign up, we'll set up your dealership account, send welcome credentials, and guide you through adding your vehicles and inviting your team. The typical onboarding takes under an hour.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan comes with a 7-day free trial — no credit card required. Your account is fully operational during the trial: add vehicles, invite team members, and run real test drives to evaluate the platform.

Does DriveDesk require any software installation?

DriveDesk runs in any modern web browser — no installation required. Valet drivers and gatekeepers use a mobile-optimised web app or the DriveDesk mobile app (Android and iOS) for GPS tracking and gate scanning.

How long does onboarding take?

A typical dealership (adding vehicles, inviting the team, and completing KYC for valets) is fully operational within one working day. We provide onboarding support for all plans.

KYC & Compliance

Is KYC mandatory for all valets?

Yes. All valet KYC is mandatory and enforced at the platform level. A valet who has not completed both Aadhaar verification and driving licence verification cannot accept new trip assignments.

How does DigiLocker KYC work?

DriveDesk uses DigiLocker OAuth — a government-backed digital document platform — to verify Aadhaar and driving licences directly from the issuing authority. This provides cryptographically signed, tamper-proof verification that is legally equivalent to original documents under the IT Act.

What happens when a valet's driving licence expires?

Yes. DriveDesk tracks driving licence expiry dates and sends automated alerts before expiry, giving you time to prompt the valet to refresh their documents before their access lapses.

How is KYC data stored and protected?

KYC data is stored in hashed and tokenised form. Raw Aadhaar numbers are never persisted. Access is restricted by role. All data is handled in compliance with applicable Indian data protection regulations.

Gate Pass System

How are gate passes generated?

Gate passes are generated automatically when a booking is approved. The pass is encoded as a HMAC-signed QR code and is available immediately for the customer or staff to present at the gate.

Do gate passes expire automatically?

Yes. Gate passes automatically expire after the booking window passes. Expired passes are rejected at the gate — the gatekeeper sees a clear error and cannot proceed without creating a new valid booking.

What is HMAC signing and why does it matter?

HMAC (Hash-based Message Authentication Code) signing means every gate pass QR code contains a cryptographic signature that can only be verified by the DriveDesk server. Any attempt to tamper with the QR payload invalidates the signature and the gate system rejects the pass.

Does gate scanning require special hardware?

Gatekeepers use a standard smartphone or tablet to scan QR codes — no dedicated hardware is needed. The DriveDesk gate scanning interface is accessible via the mobile app or any mobile browser.

GPS Tracking

Which plans include GPS tracking?

Live GPS tracking is available on the Growth plan and above. It tracks valet location via the mobile app continuously during the trip, displaying live pings on the operations map.

How long is GPS route history retained?

After the trip closes, the full GPS route is stored and viewable as a surveillance route replay. This data is retained for a minimum of 90 days and can be downloaded for use in insurance claims or incident investigations.

Do I need any GPS hardware?

GPS tracking is performed via the DriveDesk mobile app on the valet's smartphone. No additional hardware or SIM-based trackers are required.

Billing & Pricing

Is GST included in the listed pricing?

All prices are exclusive of GST. 18% GST is added at checkout, and a GST-compliant tax invoice is issued for every payment. Invoices include the GST breakdown as required by Indian accounting standards.

What payment methods are accepted?

Payments are processed securely via Razorpay. We accept all major credit and debit cards, net banking, and UPI.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period. No cancellation fees are charged.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the remaining billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period.
